SOQUE BULLETIN March 31, 2015 Tree Mulching Workday - Rescheduled for next Monday, April 6th - 10am We'll be putting down a weed barrier fabric with staples and raking in mulch around trees planted last year at Level Grove. Come help us continue this beautification effort! Level Grove Elementary Tree Mulching Workday Monday, April 6th - 10am Our workday got postponed due to rain this past MONDAY. Please e-mail if you can join us for this rescheduled day. Send to soque@windstream.net. The SRWA is helping to GREEN the campus of Level Grove Elementary through a dramatic mulching and tree planting effort that has spread dozens of loads of mulch (thanks to the City of Cornelia), and planted hundreds of trees. These efforts are reducing erosion, and enhancing rainfall infiltration, reducing stormwater runoff. Our goal is to help the landscape work like a sponge not a parking lot. Not only does this help our rivers, it helps our schools look beautiful! In our efforts to insure good tree survival and help to reduce competition betwen trees and grass, we will be MULCHING our planted trees on Monday, March 30th starting at 10am. Mulch helps young trees maintain moist roots during the dry summer months, provides a source of nutrients and fertility to the trees, and helps reduce competition with grass and weeds. Please LEND A HAND for a few hours if you can! If you think you can make it send us an e-mail to soque@windstream.net. Here's what you can bring: - WHEELBARROWS
- SHOVELS
- Heavy RAKE
- Gloves
- Hammers for driving in fabric staples
